South African National Blood Transfusion Congress 2025

Welcome

On behalf of the South African Society for Blood Transfusion, it is my great privilege to inform you that the 37th South African National Blood Transfusion Congress (SANBTC) will take place from 25 – 28 August 2025 at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre, in Johannesburg. The theme for this congress is Sharing Knowledge, Celebrating Success.

The Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre are located close to the OR Tambo International Airport situated in South Africa’s biggest city and powerful commercial centre, Johannesburg. The Birchwood Hotel offers a variety of comfortable on-site accommodation for delegates.

The SANBTC attracts national and international experts in the transfusion and transfusion-related fields, as well as early and mid-career researchers. This combination will provide an exciting scientific program for all delegates, enabling networking and knowledge sharing.

This congress will provide the perfect platform for sponsors and exhibitors to showcase their latest technologies, developments and applications in an exciting trade exhibition, allowing delegates the opportunity to interact with technical experts in the field to stay abreast with the latest developments.

The SANBTC would not be complete without an exciting social program that will create the opportunity for delegates to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere. This program will include a welcome cocktail evening, the legendary singing competition and a Gala dinner.
